- The duration of the presentation should not exceed 20 minutes.
- The font size should not be more than 30.
There is another rule that is called 6 X 6.
In this rule, any text to 6 words per line, and there should be 6 lines per slide but it should be concise and readable.

How to Make a Presentation using PowerPoint?
Here are the steps to start a PowerPoint presentation.
Step 1:
Firstly, open Microsoft PowerPoint.

Go to the Office button on the left top of the screen and click New. You can select a blank presentation from the given templates. It is better to save your presentation by clicking the save button.

Step 3:
You can perform basic operations such as font, bold, italic, cut, copy, paste, find, layout, and other related options in the home tab. Similarly, you can insert and delete slides. You can write on slides with a click on the area where you want to write.
Step 4:
In the insert menu, you can insert images, charts, objects, shapes, headers, and footers in your presentation. If you know Microsoft Word then PowerPoint is very easy for you to learn.
Step 5:
The Design menu contains a large number of slide designs to choose from. So you can select according to your requirements but if you are not agreed with anyone then you can create your own design.
Step 6:
Animation is the tab that has all the animation-related tasks. Therefore, you can select slide or text, or both animations from this tab. You can also deal with the appearance of the slide and text or its movement on the slide.
Step 7:
The slide show is the tab from which you can select slide show-related options. Hence, you can select slides that you want to include or exclude from your presentation.
Step 8:
Review is the tab that is related to the spelling check and other review-related options.
Step 9:
Similarly, the view is the tab that provides all the options related to your slide or presentation views.
Insert a new slide
Move to the Home tab and click New Slide and select slide layout.
Saving Presentation
- Firstly, click the Save icon button or Click the Office button and select the Save button.
- Browse a folder where you want to save your presentation.
- In the File name box, type the name of the file.
- Choose Save.
Adding Text
Select the text placeholder and start typing.
Text Formatting
- Select a text you want to format.
- Choose Format under Drawing Tools
- To change text color, choose Text Fill and then select a color.
- Similarly, to change the outline color of the text, choose Text Outline and select a color.
- You can add Text Effects such as shadow, reflection, bevel, glow, transform, and 3-D rotation by clicking Text Effects.
Adding Pictures
Select Insert tab
- Select Pictures and browse for the picture you want to insert, click insert
- Similarly, you can insert a picture from the web as well by clicking Online Pictures. Use the search box to find a picture.
- Select a picture and Insert it.
Adding Shapes
You can add different types of shapes to make your slide illustrative.
- Move to the Insert tab, Select shapes, and select your required shape from the menu.
- Now click and drag on the slide area to draw the shape.
- Select the Format or Shape Format tab on the ribbon. You can move to the Shape Style gallery to add color and style to your shapes.
Adding Speaker Notes
Slides are useful when there is not enough information but you can add speaker notes to the presentation as well.
- Click the Notes pane at the bottom of the window.
- Click the Notes pane and start typing notes.
Give Presentation
Move to the slide show tab,
- Start Slide Show, Click from the beginning to start the slide show from the first slide.
- If you want to start from your current position then click from the current slide.
- You can present your presentation remotely by clicking Present Online.
Getting out of the slide show
Press Esc when you want to quit the slide show.
How to Create an Effective Presentation?
Use the following techniques to make an effective and attractive presentation
- Firstly, minimize the number of slides. It will keep your audience attentive, interested and convey a clear message.
- Similarly, the font size of the presentation should be audience friendly. It should be read from a distance so 30 or above is appropriate for your audience.
- Keep your text style simple because it will make your audience listen to you instead of gazing at the screen. The use of bullets and single-line information is very effective.
- On the other hand, charts, pictures, shapes, and graphs can be added to make your presentation expressive and effective. The labels of charts and graphs should be understandable.
